Vale Marion McKinnon

The Melbourne Royal Board, management and staff were saddened to learn of the passing of Marion McKinnon on 7 January 2026.

Marion was the author of two Garryowen volumes and a devoted historian of the Garryowen Equestrian Turnout. Her passion for all things Garryowen was evident in everything she did. Her legacy will continue to be honoured each year through the Garryowen McKinnon Medal, awarded to the highest‑placed exhibitor over 45 years in the Garryowen Equestrienne Turnout.
